Wonderful to get to do this show with the full orchestration in the beautiful Majestic in Dallas. Big hiccup when during dress rehearsal our Sancho dislocated one of his knees while stepping down from a set piece. A member of the ensemble who had previously played Poncho filled in the rest of the rehearsal. Luckily the actor was back for opening with a cast and carefully wrapped cloth bandage and cane added to his character. Of course things had to be rebooked right before the opening show but it worked out.

Anyway, there are three percussion parts: Percussion 1 (a small trap setup), Percussion 2 (xylo, bells, various accessories), and Timpani. I played the Perc. 2 book for this run. Fun unison drum parts in “The Abduction” that are tricky with all the starts and stops in the music. Enjoyed getting to play lots of tambourine and castanets.
